Thomas G. Johnsen
Mr. Thomas G. Johnsen, CIPMA, Principal, joined the firm in 1988 following a stint as a public finance investment banker. Mr. Johnsen’s experience in public finance includes advising clients on certificates of participation, community facilities district bonds, special assessment bonds, and revenue bonds. Mr. Johnsen’s financial advisory experience includes multiple California cities, several county governments, and many water, wastewater and recreation special districts. Historic clients include the cities of Irvine, Orange, Chula Vista, Encinitas and Del Mar. Other clients include the cities of Elk Grove and Folsom. County clients have included Madera, Sonoma and Yuba. Special district clients have included Jurupa Community Services District, Olivehurst Public Utility District, Walnut Valley Municipal Water District, and Padre Dam Municipal Water District.
Mr. Johnsen is the Chairman of CASTOFF, a multi-disciplinary group comprised of land secure type debt professionals. He is a member of and former chair of the Public Affiairs Committee of the National Association of Municipal Advisors.
Mr. Johnsen has a Master of Science in Resource Planning and a Bachelor of Science in Economics. Mr. Johnsen is licensed as a Registered Investment Advisor Representative (Series 65) and he holds the CIPMA designation as a Certified Independent Professional Municipal Advisor from the National Association of Municipal Advisors.
